Dorchester Road Surgery is a progressive three-partner practice located at Lodmoor on Dorchester Road. We serve a population of over 6,600, covering a practice area from the town centre to the north of Weymouth.

We pride ourselves in our friendly and approachable attitude to all our patients. This culture is evident from the moment you step into the surgery. We have dedicated and hard working receptionists; efficient and helpful administration staff and a well trained and up to date team of clinical staff. We combine this with efficient systems. Our patient satisfaction surveys and performance quality data are consistently excellent.

Meet our Team

We have five doctors, three GP Partners and two Salaried GPs working together with the Primary Healthcare Team to provide the highest level of care for all our patients.

We pride ourselves on our friendly approachable work ethos while maintaining excellent standards of up to date medical care. The GP contract asks that all patients have a named accountable doctor to all intents and purposes this is the same as your registered doctor.

Practice Information

Parking

There is parking available for patients visiting the practice at the back of the surgery with designated disabled bays. Please park carefully and avoid blocking access.

The surgery claims no responsibility for any damages whilst parking in our carpark.

Outdoor cycle racks are available for use in the car park. No dogs are allowed inside the building apart from guide dogs or assistance dogs. See our disabled access page for disability access information.

 

Patient Participation Group

The provision of good access to high-quality patient care for the local population is at the heart of how the practice works. There is an active patient participation group (PPG) which helps to organise patient events on health-related topics as well as providing feedback to the practice staff. NHS Dorset – Integrated Care Board

NHS Dorset is the public name of NHS Dorset Integrated Care Board (ICB). NHS Dorset will undertake the statutory responsibilities of the clinical commissioning group (CCG) and will also be responsible for planning to meet the healthcare needs of people and communities in Dorset.

We will work more closely together across the NHS, local authorities, and many others in what is called the Dorset integrated care system.

GP Patient Survey

The GP Patient Survey is an independent survey run by Ipsos MORI on behalf of NHS England. The survey is sent out to over two million people across England. The results show how people feel about their GP practice.
