Dorchester Road Surgery
TwitterImportant Information regarding your Named Doctor
Since our merge with Royal Crescent Street and Preston Road Surgery we were very pleased to have taken on 2 new GPs (Dr Husain and Dr Fornai) to our surgery, so we are now back to our full complement of 5 doctors. This is great news for us and our patients.
We are now in a position where we can offer “personal lists” so that patients can have improved continuity of care with their own “named “doctor and build a strong relationship with that doctor. We believe this will lead to better overall care and patient satisfaction.
This does mean that there will be a redistribution of patients so there is a fair spread across all the doctors and some patients have been allocated a new doctor. Where possible households have been transferred to the new GP.
Receptionists have been trained to offer an appointment with your usual GP. We realise there may be times when it is better to see another GP (e.g. if a female GP needed for a gynaecological examination or for a specialist treatment like a joint injection) and we will be flexible on this. But in general, we would like patients to build a relationship with their named GP.
If however, after a reasonable amount of time, you find that your needs are not being met then you may choose to request a different GP. Please put your request in writing to Carole Pentelow the Practice Manager, advising who you wish to move to and why. Spaces will become available on a GP’s list when existing patients leave the Practice. In the meantime, we would ask that you remain with your named GP.
If you have any queries please contact us and we will respond as soon as possible.
