Requesting a home visit
Please be aware that our GPs will always call to assess the home visit request first. Please try to call before 11am for a home visit.
Whilst we encourage our patients to come to the surgery, where we have the proper equipment and facilities available, we do appreciate this is not always possible. In this respect, if you do need a home visit, you can help us by calling reception on 01305 766472.
You may only request a home visit if you are housebound or are too ill to visit the surgery. Your GP will assess any visit request, and this may include calling you to get more details. A visit will be agreed if your medical condition requires a visit. When a visit is agreed, this is passed to the locality (Weymouth and Portland) visiting team for the same day. Some visits are still done by the surgery advanced practitioners or GP.
You can also be visited at home by a Community Nurse if you are referred by your GP. You should also be visited at home by a Health Visitor if you have recently had a baby.
